In the style of Mary Seymour Lucas

BOY WITH DOG

“small and of no reputation”

My mother bought a print of this work before I was born from a framer in Colwyn Bay – It was her favourite painting.  Its typical of the Victorian tendancy to show the “acceptable” face of poverty and deprivation.  But, the reason she liked the painting so much was because of the dog, not the boy!

She called it “Scamp and I”!  When I researched the painting, I found the real title and artist.

It grows on you.
